Women's Research Initiative on HIV/AIDS

As the Women's Research Initiative enters its fourth consecutive year, there is much progress and momentum to report. Our core mission remains unchanged: to promote and facilitate expedience and efficiency in research about HIV disease in women by producing a coordinated effort across disciplines and organizations. The 2006 Women’s Research Initiative convened September 14-16, 2006 in Amelia Island, Florida. This year, the meeting participants included thirty individuals representing research institutions, clinics, government agencies, advocacy organizations, and pharmaceutical companies. Overall, the ongoing Women's Research Initiative body is made up of nearly sixty experts across disciplines and sectors.

Please find below a link to the 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2006 Women’s Research Initiative summary reports, as well as a link to the Women and HIV Backgrounder - a comprehensive literature review on Women and HIV written by David Gilden for The Well Project.
