Church Leaders Stage Conference on HIV

May 26, 2014 - Kingston, Jamaica - Jamaica Observer.

A joint committee of church group leaders and the Joy Town Community Development Foundation (JTCDF) will be staging a conference Friday on dealing with people infected with the HIV.

According to the organisers the conference is focused on embracing a "no harm approach" towards infected people.

"The pastors will in turn help church members to support rather than stigmatise or discriminate against members of that community," organisers said Monday in an advisory.

Presentations will be made by representatives of the National Family Planning Board, church leaders already involved in this work and the JTCDF about their HIV-related work with sex workers and out-of-school youth. Continue reading...
