When did you disclose to your child?

I'd like to know how old your child was when you disclosed your status?  And also how you disclosed your status?

I found out that I was HIV positive when I was pregnant.  I've never really 'hid' the fact that I have HIV from my son (who is now 6).  But, I've also never come out and told him that I'm HIV positive or explained what HIV is.

I'm fearful that at his age, he will share my diagnosis with someone who tells others and he is judged for my diagnosis.

I struggle with this myself.... I wish I had an answer for you but am still asking myself the same question. I have two sons, one is 18 and one is 10....I have not told either and have no idea how or when....
