Kyeh Kim

Board Member

Kyeh Kim is the Deputy Vice President (DVP) for the Infrastructure, Environment and Private Sector Division (IEPS) at the Millennium Challenge Corporation.  In her role, Kyeh is responsible for the overall management of Practice Units in IEPS that serve MCC partner countries worldwide, which include: Energy; Water, Sanitation and Irrigation; Transportation and Vertical Structures; Environmental and Social Performance; and Finance, Investment and Trade.

During her nine years at MCC, Kyeh has served in a number of operational roles involving program development, implementation and portfolio management. As one of the first career staff members at MCC, she was instrumental in the development of MCC’s program operations, including the format of the compact document and supplemental agreements, program development and due diligence processes, and the organizational structure of implementing organizations.  She helped to lead MCC’s first compact program with Madagascar and presented it to the MCC Board of Directors in April 2005. Subsequently, Kyeh has led the development of large-scale programs in Mali ($460 million), Namibia ($304 million) and Zambia ($354 million). Most recently, she has been managing a $2.5 billion portfolio of compacts in east and southern Africa as Managing Director and Acting DVP.

Prior to joining MCC, she worked for Peace Corps headquarters as the lead technical specialist on small enterprise development for country projects in Africa, Central Asia and Latin America. She also managed USAID and World Bank-funded economic development projects throughout Africa for EnterpriseWorks Worldwide.  Previously, she led an education research project in five African countries focused in quality of primary education at the World Bank and managed USAID education and training projects in Africa for the Academy for Educational Development (AED). Her interest in international development began as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Gabon. Kyeh holds a BA in French from University of Michigan and a MBA/MA in International Affairs from American University.
