Lynette Trawick is a Philadelphia native, a Christian, a wife and a mother of 11. She is a Kingdom Entrepreneur with a deep passion and desire to serve her community in many different aspects, especially in the growth of our youth. She volunteers her time building youth ministries in the areas of worship, discipleship, mission, and outreach, while serving as a spiritual leader and role model. She has a large heart, full of love that she wants to give.

Lynette is the Founder and Ministry Leader of I Am U, Inc. Through I Am U, Lynette guides and encourages women to live their lives beyond their HIV diagnosis. She also creates very unique platforms to support serodiscordant couples and children of parents who have been diagnosed with HIV. Lynette educates through workshops, presentations, skits and other creative methods. She has facilitated and co-facilitated workshops on topics varying from HIV/AIDS, healthy relationships, abstinence, and others to a variety of audiences, both faith based and non-faith based. She has been the Keynote Speaker at Breaking Barriers and Do the Right Thing 4 Life, a panelist at AIDS Delaware World AIDS Day and The Red Pump Foundation’s national tour. Lynette was honored as one of the 2018 WDAS Women of Excellence and Shero and she received the 2018 Mary J. Blige Award for Perseverance and Courage. She was also a semifinalist for the 2018 KYW Women’s Achievement Award. In April 2018, she created a social media campaign entitled #MedicationMotivation to support and encourage individuals who take daily medication to persevere no matter how hard it may seem. Lynette uses her personal testimonies to reach her audience in a genuine and powerful way. Her first book, From Diagnosis to Destiny, is set to release in 2019.

With all the responsibilities she has, from professional work to volunteering and being a wife and mother of 11, you would probably think there isn’t that much time in the world. Yet, she makes it look easy. With God as the CEO of your life and businesses, there is nothing you can’t accomplish.

Why Lynette wants to be part of A Girl Like Me: I’ve always wanted be a writer but struggled to get my thoughts out. In 2016, I finally decided it was time to begin my journey as an author. I began writing my first memoir (which is still in process) and fell in love with writing as it was very therapeutic. As an A Girl Like Me blogger, I can continue to not just release for myself but also help others release the idea that they are alone in their HIV journey.
