I'm in awe of black women
The greatest organizers to ever live
They've known suffering and skimmin'
So they know how much they have to give

I'm in awe of black women
They show up every single day
While legislators are trimmin'
All their rights and freedoms away

I'm in awe of black women
They never surrender or give up
their power you won’t be dimmin'
Because they drink from their people's cup

I'm in awe of black women
Through herstory they are strong
They always have my head swimmin'
With the things they balance and carry on

I'm in awe of black women
Uphill battles they know how to fight
Yet their countenance is always brimmin'
They help each other through the night

I'm in awe of black women
They're over comers wait and see
They always have my head spinnin'
To keep up with them is lunacy

I'm in awe of black women
Truly I mean it or can't you tell
If you don't like black women
Then kiss my ass and go to hell!!
