HIV Beautiful: Art for Social Change - by Farah Jeune

Farah Jeune is an artist who utilizes her love for doodling as a tool for social change. As a 2016 & 2017 National Minority Aids Council (NMAC) Youth Advocate, Farah learned about the mass amount of stigma behind HIV in our communities and the health disparities throughout the nation. “I care immensely about the health and wellness of my fellow peers. It’s very important to me to be one of the voices that help de-stigmatize these issues that keep us from staying healthy, safer, S.E.X.Y.,” says Farah Jeune.

One of Farah’s projects, “HIV Beautiful: Art for Social Change” includes various illustrations dedicated to informing people about HIV facts, myths, social struggles, and an homage to those involved in the movement. She has created a series of illustrations, inspired by the people in different communities around the world, who advocate, march, educate and uplift their peers. “HIV/AIDS is a human rights issue and it’s our duty to fight stigma and continue to support those who are affected and effected by HIV.”
