The HIV Treatment Journal of TPAN

TPAN was founded in 1987 in Chicago as Test Positive Aware Network when 17 individuals living with HIV gathered in a living room to share information and support in response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Positively Aware is the expression of TPAN's dual mission to share accurate, reliable and timely treatment and health information with anyone affected by HIV—free of charge.

The magazine is published six times a year. Our biggest issue is the annual HIV Drug Guide and its accompanying HIV drug chart, serving as a valued resource throughout the year. A seventh, special issue is devoted to a specific topic such as PrEP or mental health. Positively Aware also produces A Day with HIV, an annual social media-based anti-stigma campaign.

Readers trust Positively Aware. They have a unique relationship with the magazine, looking to PA for information they can use to make informed decisions about their treatment, their health and their lives.

On Sunday, September 22, help portray 24 hours in the lives of people living with and affected by HIV. Photograph a moment of your day. Post it to your social media: include #adaywithhiv, the TIME and LOCATION of your photo and what INSPIRED you to take it. Select hi-res images will appear in the NOV+DEC issue of Positively Aware—four photos will be chosen for the cover. You can also email a high-res, print quality image with caption to editor@positivelyaware.com. Find A Day with HIV on Instagram and Twitter (now known as X) to learn more!
