The Well Project joins the entire HIV community in mourning the loss of life from the Malaysia Air flight yesterday, and devastated by the news that many AIDS researchers, advocates, and delegates en route to AIDS 2014 were on board. Joep Lange was a vital and long-standing force in the global fight against HIV/AIDS, inspiring countless others to both enter the field and persevere in their efforts. The world has suffered a major loss today. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of all the victims, as well as with our HIV family who are in Melbourne for the conference, also deeply affected by this tragedy.
