A Girl Like Me (AGLM), a program of The Well Project, is a blog where women across the gender spectrum can share their experiences and promote understanding of HIV. Millions of women around the globe are living with HIV, yet many feel they are alone in their disease and isolated in their day-to-day experiences. The goals of AGLM are to help normalize HIV; and to create a safe space for women living with HIV from around the world to speak out and share their experiences – with each other, and with those seeking a support community.

I've spent the last six years unpacking my past, settling in self and growing in grief. This journey of emotional upheaval has been the most arduous work I've ever done, including teaching high school remedial reading to teen girls from...

It's so crazy how HIV really sometimes is the last thing I think about … so much so that a new journey I'll be embarking on (blog post coming soon) I didn't even realize, is starting on my diagnosis date...

Mother's Day is never easy for me, because I don't have a relationship with my mother. She's not deceased, I just don't have a relationship with her, never really have to be honest. The reasons why are many and the story is long and complicated, but I'll try to share what I can.

Nursing is not for the weak, and nursing school is the epitome of that. There are two major things I didn't learn in nursing school. The first is how to be a nurse. You don't actually learn to be a...

Today I got the call that I have been not wanting to receive. I have known that my father has Alzheimer's, Dementia, and Parkinson's since May of 2020. It's been hard to make decisions for the person who I have felt caused me so much hurt.

When searching for support groups, I found friends of all ethnicities. However, I didn't find many from my Asian community.

Hello friends. It's been a while ... many know last year was a pretty hard year for me and it's taken some time for me to resurface... Just so much going on in my mind and heart, but one thing...
