June 2019: The SERO Project, in partnership with Positive Women's Network - USA, Positively Trans, THRIVE SS, and US PLHIV Caucus, announces the HIV Is Not a Crime IV National Training Academy (HINAC IV) will be held May 30 to June 2, 2020, at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Participants will be staying with Student Life's Summer Conference Housing and meeting at the Ohio Union for the conference plenary and breakout sessions.

"The Venue and Logistics committee landed on Ohio State for many reasons," shares Kayla Gore, Southern Regional Coordinator for the Transgender Law Center and C0-Chair of HINAC Venue & Logistics Committee, "One of our main concerns were the safety and comfort of our group of diverse attendees. Things taken into consideration were location in proximity to medical facilities, campus lgbtq cultures, racial equity within the surrounding community and on campus (staff/students), also crime stats on and off campus."

"HIV Is Not A Crime IV is a unique opportunity to bring together PLHIV, activists, policy leaders, public health and legal professionals, to strategize at the state level," said Andrew Spieldenner, Ph.D., Vice-Chair of the US PLHIV Caucus and Co-Chair of HINAC Venue & Logistics Committee. "Previous HINAC gatherings inspired efforts in Colorado, California, North Carolina and Michigan that led to successful reform."
