At The Well Project, our values are reflected in the work we do and in the ways we show up for community. Evidence based and always learning means not just grounding our resources in evidence, but making sure we are in the places research is presented.
Stakeholder liaison Bridgette Picou, LVN, ACLPN, was in Prague, the Czech Republic, in April of 2026 for the 16th International Workshop on Women & HIV. This yearly conference is focused on research, medicine, and best practices that address unique medical, social, and structural challenges related to HIV prevention, treatment, and care for women. The Well Project presented a poster called Language Matters in Healthcare – Understanding the Frequency and Impact of Stigmatizing Language among Cisgender and Transgender Women and Non-Binary Adults Living with HIV in the United States, based on our research project and survey examining language, its use, and its impacts on women living with HIV across the gender spectrum.
