Alftan Dyson, PharmD, AAHIVP, FNPhA, serves as Head of US Strategic Medical Partnerships at ViiV Healthcare, where she leads collaborations with health professional associations, medical institutions, and other key stakeholders to drive innovation and advance ViiV’s mission. Previously, she was a Brand Regional Medical Lead and US Health Equity Medical Engagement Lead, spearheading medical planning, scientific communications, and stakeholder training while fostering partnerships to address disparities and increase disease awareness.
Since joining ViiV in 2019 as a Medical Science Liaison for the US Southeast, Alftan has held key roles, including Acting Director on the Global Public Health and Innovation team and Brand US Medical Director. Prior to ViiV, she served as Director of Pharmacy Services at Medical Advocacy and Outreach in Montgomery, AL, overseeing pharmacy operations and 340B compliance. Dr. Dyson earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2013 and completed a residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2014. She is a life member of the National Pharmaceutical Association (NPhA), serves on the NPhA Foundation Board, and chairs the American Academy of HIV Medicine’s Council on Racial Equity. In her spare time, Alftan enjoys traveling the world with her partner, Dorian, and exploring new cultures.
