It was Friday, May 2, 1986, and the day started out like any other day, but it wasn't. Today would change our lives forever. Today, we would be moving to our new home, which was only a few blocks away. Bobby and I started racing downhill. I was twelve, and Bobby was only four years old. He was on his tricycle, and I was on his big wheel. I hit a high crack in the sidewalk and flipped over and over and over several times. I sat there for a few minutes in a complete daze, then I got up, dusted myself off, and we kept on walking to our new apartment. Over the weekend, I was fine. We started unpacking our things and getting settled in our new place. However, when I woke that Monday morning, I was paralyzed on my right side from my neck to my waist.
