It's interesting how time really passes; this is a piece that I wrote 14 years ago. I was so young and, of course, hopeful, as a young woman living with HIV by then. Let me change language a bit in my blog, or as I call them, "my thoughts on paper".
Through HIV, so many lives of our loved ones have been lost over the years. It used to be so scary, it was hopeless back in the days. As I have indicated that I wrote this piece 14 years ago, and this was before even the launch of U=U which has just turned 10 years this year. WOW, we have made progress. I remember when ARVs became available. It helped people who felt hopeless. I remember it so well because when it came, we used to go to Oshakati hospital at 5am because it was the only hospital that had the life-saving treatment back in 2004. Continue reading...
