Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI): Scholarship Application Submission Open Now

via Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI)

The annual Conference on Retroviruses and Opportunistic Infections (CROI) brings together top basic, translational, and clinical researchers from around the world to share the latest studies, important developments, and best research methods in the ongoing battle against HIV/AIDS and related infectious diseases. CROI 2020 will be held from March 8 to March 11, 2020, at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

Three annual scholarships and awards are offered. The awards will help cover the costs of attending CROI.

Important Dates

  • Scholarship application submission opens: August 28, 2019, 5:00 PM Pacific Time
  • Deadline for submitting scholarship application: September 26, 2019, 5:00 PM Pacific Time
  • General abstract and scholarship dispositions sent by email: November 14, 2019

Community Educator Scholarship

A limited number of scholarships to attend CROI will be awarded to community leaders who engage in communications and educational activities focused around HIV prevention, treatment, or cure research demonstrate an established commitment to sharing scientific knowledge. Applications for the Community Scholarship do not require abstract submission; however, applications must be submitted with a letter of recommendation.

International Investigator Scholarship

A limited number of scholarships to attend CROI will be awarded to researchers and clinicians who come from developing countries, are working in the area of AIDS research, and would be unable to participate in CROI without financial support. International Investigator Scholarship recipients must be involved in or have plans to establish international collaborations and be a presenting author on an accepted abstract.

New Investigator Scholarship

A limited number of scholarships to attend CROI will be awarded to fellows and students in the fields of HIV science and medicine who are presenting authors on accepted abstracts.
