It's really not easy to be transgender,
There's little reward and even less splendor,
Just social hate and judgement abounds,
Where facts and truth and compassion dumbfounds,
Republicans, conservatives and Christians alike,
Cause hate and violence for trans people to spike,
But they don't mind, they don't seem to care,
About the harm they cause that can't compare,
They cause the suicide rate among trans people to rise,
And the fact they don't care should be no surprise,
So it's all up to us to fight for our rights,
No matter how hard the days or cold the nights,
Trans people are very resilient and strong,
You have to be when everyone tells you you're wrong,
Trans people love because they know how it feels,
To be rejected by loved ones who turned out to be heels,
Trans people fight against hate literally every single day,
For women, for immigrants and all minorities along the way,
Trans people are beautiful as a butterfly with wings,
In a world full of hate and all that that brings,
It's really not easy to be transgender,
But it's a group of which I'm proud to be a member.
