On May 13, 2025 at 11:00 am ET / 08:00 AM PT, join us for a robust Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) conversation on: Reexamining Child Welfare Practices in the Context of HIV-Affected Families: Legal and Social Implications.

Health practitioners, including providers, nurses, and social workers, are required to report suspected child abuse and neglect to local child welfare agencies (Child Protection Services [CPS] or Department of Family and Children’s Services [DFCS]). The 2025 Perinatal HIV Roundtable will feature a discussion on how legal and medical policies impact families navigating the child welfare system. This event will explore how health and legal systems interact and how reporting processes can affect families affected by HIV. Through expert-led discussions, real-world case analyses, and interactive breakout sessions, participants will gain insights into alternative approaches that prioritize family unity. This event is designed for health practitioners, social workers, and professionals who work with families affected by HIV and are interested in child welfare policies.
