Tomorrow, April 18, marks my 35-year battle with #HIV! I never thought I would make it this far. Thank you to all that have helped me and taught me in this journey to be a better human being. ❤️ I want to thank my mother, Tere Velasquez, for being my rock and for always being there for me, even as a troubled and violent teen that saw nothing but pain and violence. However, her example and, for me personally, My God and determination to survive, have me still standing and fighting till the end!! The key to this is not only to survive, but to thrive and be adherent to your medication! I love biktarvy, which is one of the newest and least toxic medications for this human condition*, and I am doing well on it.
I hope that through my spiritual pain, passion and example, others feel hope and understand that no matter what we go through in life 🦋 we can overcome and evolve spiritually. 🙏 I forgive all of those people that have hurt me and will continue to pray for them! I shouldn't be here, but I am! And I will continue to fight for others and myself until my mission on this earth is complete. Thank you to everyone that supports me in all my life's ups and downs and to Krista Heitzman Martel and The Well Project, who are family, I love you all.
❤️ love and light #mariamejia
