This Is Your Public Service Announcement

Time for a little honestly ...

Social media makes things look real good and after so many "hype ups" of you are crushing it, you're killing it, you're doing so many great things, I finally had enough!

I need us to remember social media captures a moment in time. We control what we share and there aren't too many people sharing the real, raw and ugly side of life. Physically, mentally, emotionally... sooo many are struggling, even, and dare I say, especially, the one who looks like they have it all together.

Now let me preface, I'm okay... I'm okay NOW... but ya girl was drowning. Behind the smile, the networking events, the flights, all the things my followers are giddy over, I was dying inside. I was having the hardest time seeing my worth, my beauty, and purpose. I felt totally hopeless.

I don't know if you've ever felt lost, stuck, or just totally unseen...

I'm in a better space now but it's because I finally decided to be true to myself. I stopped doing what society says is "normal" or that I should be doing and I leaned into what brings me joy. What makes my heart smile! So I did what any sane person would do... I quit my stable W2 job... Sane may be a stretch but hopefully it gave you a little laugh amidst the heaviness.

Financially, my joy hasn't fully aligned with this but I have faith and trust God, that when I surrender to His will, he will take care of me.

His word tells us to not worry about what we will wear etc., so I'm taking that so literally that I'm not even sure how I'll make rent this month, but I trust Him to provide.

I don't know if you've ever felt lost, stuck, or just totally unseen. Or maybe you just got so good at wearing the mask that you didn't recognize yourself anymore.

This is my encouragement to be still. Get ugly. Cry. Scream. Feel. Put down the mask. Follow your heart and have faith things will work out.

Regardless of your religious beliefs, I truly believe when we stop trying to control things and have belief mixed with purposeful and intentional action, things will work out.

They just have to.

Right?

So this is me coming up for air, simply hoping someone else recognizes they aren't alone and that this too shall pass!

Signed,
a Jesus follower, who lives in a broken world and often times forgets what His word says

Sending love, light and peace to anyone who feels even just an ounce of what I've shared.

You are seen. You are worthy. You are loved.
