Some people have nothing nice to say...only criticism.
When I posted about the HIV vaccine, a few came at me saying "HIV doesn't exist." I've heard it all before. I've been fighting these HIV dissidents for decades especially the Rethink AIDS / House of Numbers crowd.
They once had me on a so-called "waiting list"... to die from HIV meds. They told me that my medication would kill me, not the virus. And I know for a fact they were wrong. Why? Because I lived 10 years without treatment in the early 90s. I almost died.
When I came to the United States in 2001, I started treatment. Four weeks later, I was undetectable. And here I am... 37 years after my diagnosis, alive to tell the story!!!!
The truth is painful: most of those dissidents have passed away. Many stopped their meds because they believed those lies. That's the real tragedy.
Some people listened to me; they went back on treatment and they're alive today. Others didn't make it.
I took those groups down 10-15 years ago, and I'll never stop speaking up. Because misinformation kills. And my story... my life... is proof that science and treatment save lives!!!!

Lies take Lives
Lies will literally take the lives of people who are not informed or even scared. Lives that didn't have to go on. Continue to speak your truth so they can see how far medicine has come. Science speaks truths.
Data in real life
Thank you for continuing to speak out for so long. I know it gives other folks hope and something to look forward to. We can actually do this, you know, with the very real HIV inside of our bodies.
Maria your strength and…
Maria your strength and voice are so powerful. Thank you for continuing to speak out against misinformation! your story like many of ours is living proof of survival and the power of treatment. I’m grateful for advocates like you who never stop telling the truth and reminding us all that our lives matter because when life happens and we forget, these reminders matter most
